Hi, I’m Rodney …

I’ve been a professional photographer for more than four decades. As a teenager, I learned photography from my dad, a semiprofessional photographer, and freelanced for my hometown newspaper before attending Ball State University to study photojournalism. From there I went on to have a lengthy and ” successful career as an award-winning newspaper and freelance photojournalist.

Now, with news photography behind me, I am passionately fulfilling my creative vision as a fine art, editorial, and commercial portrait, food, and product photographer.

I own a private photo studio just off the downtown Square in Bloomington, Indiana, and regularly shoot on location throughout the Midwest—I am available for destination assignments worldwide.

My wife, Linda, and I have been married for more 34 years and live on the south side of Bloomington. I am also the managing editor and director of photography for Bloom Magazine, Bloomington’s culture and lifestyle magazine.

Linda and I have two adult sons—one living in Niles, Michigan, and the other in Denver, Colorado—and two adorable (but mischievous) cats. When not making photos or working for Bloom, I enjoy reading, running, kayaking, and traveling..
