Alright, I made it through the second day of our friendly, family challenge. In case you missed it yesterday, my wonderful wife, Linda—the writer—decided to blog every day during the month of September, and to help provide her with inspiration, she challenged me to create a new photo every day.
I’ve succeeded in keeping up with the challenge for all of two days now, which is more than many people—myself included—might expect.
Today’s photo is of a challenge we faced as a family, to keep a plant alive. We aren’t exactly the green gardeners around here, and most plants that enter our responsibility zone die soon thereafter. This flower was a table decoration at a family reunion in late June, which my sister sent home with the promise that it will live regardless of how little attention we might give it.
Lo’ and behold, she was right! Watered only by the rain falling on our back deck, it has thrived for more than two whole months. I believe that is a family record.
Live long and prosper, pretty pink flowering plant.
